Who is Tashawn?
Inspired by an emotion, a smell, colour, song, sound or even a memory, from a child, Tashawn Clarke has been passionate about arts and craft. For her, art has always been a safe place, a way to simply express herself and tell a story. Tashawn believes that she was born to create.
Surrealism and expressionism are two of the techniques employed by Tashawn to deliver her artistic message. For her, the process of creating forms the “backbone” of the message she is trying to articulate; in her opinion this process gives her the space needed to get the message right.
Oftentimes through this process which includes experimentation Tashawn’s message is expanded.
Tashawn loves creating art and believes that while she as the artist may interpret her work one way, her interpretation is not the only way for the work to viewed.
She therefore derives great satisfaction from seeing and hearing what her work means to those who view it.
