Inspired by the beautiful Island of Barbados and the people who surround her, owner of the brand Sand, Sea and Skye, 26-year-old Ms. Skye Inniss loves to design. While designing fashion is a recent undertaking, Skye is very passionate, and wants people to recognize “that local fashion can be comfortable, affordable, breathable and still fabulous!” Skye hopes that through her work she can offer Barbadians an alternative to shopping only for clothing made abroad and instead shop locally for clothing made here using local fabrics and by local talent. This young designer receives a lot of satisfaction from seeing her work come to fruition and putting a smile on her clients faces. The Sand, Sea and Skye brand though not opposed to other designers being ‘wild and outlandish’ is personally opposed to this style. Rather, Skye prefers tropical, chic and sultry attire and aims to “create practical outfits that can be worn multiple times but each time make a statement.”
